Burnaby School District’s Indigenous Education Program provides culturally relevant programming and services to students ofÌýIndigenous ancestry. Our enhanced services are intended to create pathways to success for each and every student ofÌýIndigenous ancestry within Burnaby schools.

What services are available through Indigenous Education in Burnaby?
There are several different services available for Indigenous students in Burnaby Schools. Although your child may not require access to all the services provided, here are some of the services that are available:
• Relationship and connection with Indigenous Education Team Member
• Cultural teachings/lessons within the classroom
• Academic liaising and guidance
• Literacy Enhancement Services
• Grade 7 Transition to Secondary support
• Invitation to school-based cultural programs and services
• School-wide and District-wide cultural events, leadership opportunities and celebrations
